ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a Los Angeles based artist working with a range of mediums including screenwriting, short essays, photography and painting. My paintings are influenced by Catalan surrealist artist Remedies Varo, whose paintings often reflect an abstract depiction of nature merging with memory and mysticism, which create a dream like depiction of a perfectly imperfect, haunting world. My screenplays are heavily inspired by filmmakers like Ken Russell and Gregg Araki, both artists who similarly build abstract worlds juxtaposed against the depiction of protagonist outsiders raging against their reality. Milan Kundera is also a large inspiration of mine. In his novels he brilliantly uses the internal perspective of his protagonists to highlight the underbelly of irony that reflects the human condition.
